Enhancements in Disability Sport

A debating resource for teachers

The 2012 RSE Discussion Forum took place in June 2012 at Arbroath Academy, and focused on the topical theme of Enhancements in Disability Sport. This resource pack allows teachers to recreate the debates and related activities in their own classroom, and is suitable for S4 to S6 students.

The cover art, specially commissioned and designed by Scottish artist and animator Gordon Crawford,  uses the idea of 'Blood, Sweat and Tears' as inspiration, reflecting the passion and determination of athletes that compete at this level.  Gordon is an alumnus of Arbroath Academy, and went on to graduate from Duncan of Jordanstone School of Television and Imaging at Dundee University in 2007 with an honours degree in Animation. He subsequently won a Young Scottish BAFTA in 2008 for his degree show piece - "Brown Balloon". The RSE was pleased to have the opportunity to work with one of Scotland's talented young artists on this project.

The resource pack is available to download. Alternatively, contact the events team for a hard copy. We would love to hear your feedback on this resource, so do let us know if you have used it.
