D S MacLagan Travel Grant

D S MacLagan Travel Grant

Now available

A legacy was received in 1992 from the estate of the late Dr Daniel S MacLagan, FRSE, to provide a grant once every three years for travel and subsistence incurred in field work on terrestrial ecology, or for attendance at meetings or conferences at which major results of research on terrestrial animal ecology are being presented in Britain or abroad. It is hoped that in addition to attendance at meetings or conferences, a grant holder would spend some time on research collaboration or other associated work during a visit.

Applicants must be members of staff of a Higher Education Institution in Scotland.

Applicants must ensure the application form is signed by a Fellow of the RSE, if the applicant is not a
Fellow, or by the appropriate Dean of the Faculty of the applicant’s institution

Applicants who are fellows of the RSE cannot hold a MacLagan Travel Grant in conjunction with an RSE Travel Assistance Grant

A MacLagan Travel Grant can be held in addition to funds from other grant-giving sources eg the Carnegie Trust, the Royal Society of London or employing institutions, but the specific purpose for which the Grant would be used must be separately identifiable.
