The 2020 Challenge for Scotland\'s Biodiversity
In its response to the Scottish Government's consultation on the 2020 challenge for Scotland's Biodiversity, the RSE comments that while the strategy document contains many laudable aspirations, it is weak on strategic action. The strategy should address how implementation is to be approached. The development of an action plan will be essential to the achievement of the strategy's high level outcomes for securing Scotland's biodiversity.
The strategy document does not recognise the conflicts between nature and human activities. The result is that it fails to provide an explicit means of resolving conflicts. The RSE made exactly the same comment in relation to the development of Scotland's Land Use Strategy.
