EU Commissioner Carlos Moedas outlines research vision
EU Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science, Carolos Moedas, outlined his vision for European research in his first public lecture in the UK since taking office in November 2014. The event took place at the Royal Society in London and was organised through a partnership involving the RSE, Academy of Medical Sciences, British Academy, Royal Academy of Engineering and the Royal Society. At a time when Europe and the wider world faces a growing number of societal, environmental and economic challenges, his visit was an opportunity for public debate. Following the lecture, RSE President Professor Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell took part in a question and answer session.
