Teaching Excellence, Social Mobility and Student Choice
The Royal Society of Edinburgh has submitted a response to the Department for Business Innovation and Skills' consultation on the Green Paper addressing Teaching Excellence, Social Mobility and Student choice. The response noted the importance of undertaking work to more adequately define what constitutes 'good teaching' so that it may be better implemented and monorited in universities.
The paper also warned of the potentially adeverse consequences of Scottish higher education institutions having no involvement in the proposed Teaching Excellence Framework and stressed the need for engagment between the Scottish and UK governments on this issue.
