Review of Qualifications and Assessment

In order to influence this important review, the Learned Societies Group has highlighted the STEM aspects of the national qualifications in Scotland that it believes need to be considered. This includes: ensuring a strategic approach to the review developments; addressing multi-course teaching in the sciences (i.e., where two or more different levels of science courses are taught in the same class); reducing the burden of internal assessment for teachers and pupils; and monitoring the implications of qualification reforms on pupil uptake and attainment in STEM subjects.
