A Future for Public Service Television

Posted 04/03/2016

The Royal Society of Edinburgh has submitted evidence to the Inquiry into a Future for Public Service Television.

The RSE paper builds upon the past work the Society has undertaken around public service broadcasting and, in particular, the role and future of the BBC.

The Advice Paper stresses the need for public service television broadcasters to continue to create high-quality and marketable content. It also notes that BBC News has struggled to keep up with the changing constitutional situation in the UK and must take action to ensure the organisation's output is inclusive and takes account of audiences across the entire United Kingdom.
