RSE Responds to Inquiry
The Royal Society of Edinburgh RSE has responded to the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee’s Inquiry into the Impact of EU Regulation and Policy on the UK Life Sciences.
The paper acknowledges that Scotland makes a significant contribution to the impact of life sciences research. It hosts the UK’s second-largest life sciences cluster and one of the most sizeable in Europe, with an annual turnover worth in excess of £3.2 billion. In this context, the RSE believes the case for maintaining investment in the UK and Scottish life sciences to be compelling to ensure that an influential role in the global arena is continued.
