Scotland-Taiwan Workshop on Electronic Materials and Nanomaterials

Posted 31/01/2012

The RSE and the National Science Council of Taiwan are pleased to be jointly-funding the ‘Scotland-Taiwan Bilateral Workshop on Electronic Materials and Nanomaterials’ to be held on 6th and 7th February at the University of Edinburgh.

The RSE and NSC signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2001 to facilitate, encourage and support research collaboration in all areas between research groups in Scotland and Taiwan, and since then have supported a range of activities, including short-term research visits and joint workshops.

This workshop will promote long-term cooperation in the area of novel materials in specific fields (such as materials, physics and chemistry). The UK Principle Investigator is Professor J. Paul Attfield FRSE, Director of the Centre for Science at Extreme Conditions, University of Edinburgh, while the Taiwan Principle Investigator is Professor Ikai Lo, Dean of the College of Science, National Sun Yat-Sen University. There will be around 20 UK and Taiwan scholars giving presentations at this workshop.
